About the Fabric
Main: 1 yard White Pin Dot On Black Rayon/Spandex Jersey from Cali Fabrics

I love me some rayon! It creates the most beautiful drape and is oh-so-comfortable for summer.
This particular fabric had some bunching along the selvages, which wasn’t too dire once I cut the selvages off. It’s also a bit of a lint magnet. Even still, rayon + tiny polka dots = love.
Binding: Uhg I don’t remember. Maybe it’s an athletic knit? Except it seems pretty light, almost like a lining, but it has really good recovery. And I have a bunch of it and no idea why. My stash might be getting out of control.
About the Pattern
George and Ginger Flip Flop Top
Such a simple but super cute concept. It’s like wearing a halter top without the annoyance of a halter top. The binding is what adds some time to an otherwise quick sew, but even with that, I did it inside of a day with time left over to butcher a sweater. (More on that in my next post.)
The instructions were mostly clear, except I somehow ended up with the binding twisted. I thought I was being clever by anchoring the back center strap into the binding seam, but turns out that seam runs along the TOP of the binding instead of the bottom (which is what would make that little trick possible.) So I had to endure the shameful unpicking. At least it wasn’t very much: just a short section along the center back neck. Easily salvaged.

Notes for Next Time
- Size up to 9-10. I was envisioning a looser fit around the bust.
- Don’t twist the binding, dummy.
