When one makes a dress to attend a wedding, one must also make a coordinating clutch, and you can’t beat this free pattern by Charmed Liebling. The instructions are spot on; I didn’t have to cross out or rewrite or add anything or do hardly anything differently. (I did use a light interfacing on all the straps so they had some extra substance to them, and I was stuck with a regular snap because the store was all out of magnetic ones.) The instructions are detailed, clear, and there are helpful photos for each step, making the entire project quick and easy.
On top of that, the bag itself is just right. It has that cute pleat detail in the front. It’s not too big or too small (a smart phone will fit easily with tons of room to spare.) It includes a clip-on wrist strap and also a shoulder strap so you can choose how to carry it. You could even hack it to make the shoulder strap clip on, or add pockets on the inside. I kind of want to make a thousand of these now.
I just came across your blog and saw your blog post about the Pink Peony Bag, which I designed. I am so happy that you enjoyed making it. Your bag looks so cute and that dress is stunning! Happy sewing! Anna (charmed Liebling)
That is so sweet, thank you! And thanks for the amazing pattern, Anna! It was just what I was looking for.
