Plaid Athletic Knit Peg Legs

I see plaid and I cannot resist, and I usually envision leggings. Plaid leggings are so fun to dress up with tunics, or layer with mini skirts, with short boots or long boots. Plaid gives such a pop of fun in an outfit. So here I am with another pair of Peg Legs.

Yeahhh…I’ve made a disturbing number of Peg Legs. I haven’t even posted half of them. I had this notion a few months ago to buy several one-yard cuts of DBP in varying colors—mostly solids—to sew into a slew of Peg Legs, and I lumped all of that into a single project on my Trello board which I am still working through. I have 5 pairs left (out of 15.)

See? A disturbing number of Peg Legs.

About the Fabric

Ice Gray Plaid, Athletic Knit from Boho Fabrics. The fabric deets were missing, but I snagged this for half off. Half off plaid? Count me in. Sign me up. Stick a fork in me. I’m toast.

As I usually do, I didn’t pay the attention that was due to the stretch/recovery of this fabric, and being athletic knit, it’s snappier than double brushed poly. Which leaves me thinking I need to create a sized-up version of my pattern pieces to use for snappier fabrics like this.

The face of this fabric was surprisingly grabby; usually athletic knits have a very smooth, cool texture, but this one feels warmer and even slightly brushed. Sews up very well, though.

The black side panels are double brushed poly.
